Bookable Medical Library spaces
The library training room and soundproof library pods should now be booked online. University users go to the bookings website and log in with Raven to make a booking. CUH staff please contact the custodial team at the building reception who will make a booking for you. Library staff are no longer involved in room bookings. If the space is empty, you can still use it, however, a person with a booking will always have the priority.
Computing facilities
There are 2 computer networks available in the Medical Library: University of Cambridge, and Addenbrooke’s.
University of Cambridge
Wired:
We have 7 PCs in the Share space, and 6 in the Training room (available when training is not taking place). These PCs all have the following software and programs installed:
- Internet
- Microsoft Office
- OpenOffice
- SPSS
- Endnote, Mendeley and Zotero
- R
Use your Library card number to log in (CRSid for clinical students and some other University of Cambridge staff/students).
Printing is available from University-networked library PCs, and the printer is also enabled for photocopying and scanning. Please note that it is not possible to print from the NHS-networked (Addenbrooke’s) PCs in the library.
Wireless:
Eduroam wifi for University of Cambridge staff and students. If you are a student at another university, you can set up Eduroam there, and then use it in the library — but you will need to follow your own university’s instructions for initially setting things up.
Uni of Cam – Guest is available to visitors and guests of the University. Connect using your email address or social media account. NHS staff should use this option.
Addenbrooke’s NHS Network
Wired
There are 8 PCs linked to the Addenbrookes network.
Print, copy, scan
We are pleased to offer networked printing, scanning and photocopying — the credit you buy will be valid for any of these services. Add credit via the Managed Print service (University users log in with your University of Cambridge login, NHS users login with your library card number and password).
Full details of the printing services are available, including information on how to print from your own device rather than from a library computer.
