The Medical Library is located in the Clinical School building on the Addenbrooke’s site. We welcome all staff and students of the University of Cambridge, as well as NHS staff working at Addenbrooke’s or within the wider East of England region. Join us for a video tour of our library!
History
The Medical Library was established in 1973 and gained dependent library status of the Cambridge University Library in 1976, becoming one of four dependent libraries. Cambridge University Libraries (of which the Medical Library is part) now comprise the main University Library and a number of affiliated subject libraries.
Collection
The Medical Library collections supports all aspects of medicine and healthcare. The book collection of over 50,000 volumes contains core textbooks and specialty titles, many of which are available electronically as well as in print. The journal collection is increasingly weighted towards electronic access, with over 104,000 e-titles accessible. The library also facilitates access to electronic resources for NHS staff.
